Re: This has me stumped
Yes, Windows 7 is a great OS, but it’s vastly different to XP. All I can suggest is that you run it in windowed mode at the same resolution as your desktop:
Right-click on the Sims 3 startup icon, then send, or create a shortcut on your desktop
On this shortcut, right-click and select ‘Properties’
At the end of the “target” line, add a space and the text “-w”, without the quotes
You could also use any of the following command lines instead of the “-w”:
-w windowed mode
-f fullscreen mode
-nosound run with no sound
-r800x600 run at 800 x 600 resolution
-r(w)x(h) run at (w) x (h) resolution
But saying all that, I always run my Sims games in windowed mode anyway, as it’s easier to take screenshots and videos, and to switch between programs. Although I must admit, I never had any problems with the fullscreen mode in Windows 7, so I’m not sure why it won’t run for you.
Try searching through the official Sims 3 site to see if they can help…you can put in a support request and they should be able to help you. Their support isn’t the fastest, but they do get there. 🙂
Please post all support requests in the forums if at all possible
