Your saved games are usually located in your ‘Documents‘ folder, in both the PC and Mac platforms. To backup your saved games, follow the steps below:
PC users
- Click on the ‘Start‘ menu on the Windows Taskbar.
- Click on ‘My Documents.’
- Double-click on the ‘Electronic Arts‘ folder.
- Open the ‘The Sims 3‘ folder.
- You should see a folder named ‘Saves.’ This is where your saved games are located.
- Right-click on the ‘Saves‘ folder and select ‘Copy‘ from the list of options.
- Right-click on your Desktop, USB drive, or desired location where you wish to save your backup games.
- Select ‘Paste‘ from the menu list.
- You should now have created a copy of your saved games. We recommend re-naming your folder by including the words ‘Sims 3,’ ‘Saves,’ or ‘backup‘ in the file name to avoid confusion. If you need to replace your saved games, simply replace your ‘Saves‘ folder in the location below, but make sure you rename your backup folder as ‘Saves.’
