If you are lucky enough to have obtained a copy of the Sims 2 Ultimate Collection from Origin, then your game should run with no problems on Windows 10.
However, if you just want to run the base game, this is a bit, more tricky as the patches for the DVD and CD versions don’t seem to install correctly, or at least this was my experience.
I did manage to install the game and get it to work as I had the game installed on another, Windows 7 PC. I simply copied the CSBin, TSBin and TSData folders from there to the new install and it seemed to work fine.
Installing the packs, however, was another frustrating effort altogether, so in the end I abandoned the attempt and went back to the Ultimate Collection.
The reason I wanted to install them manually was that AnyGameStarter doesn’t work with the collection and I often use this to build lots and test meshes I’ve created.
However, I came across this thread from EA that may help. It’s for Windows 8, but should work for Windows 10, too. I’d love to hear from anyone that has had any success with this or any other methods. I do have several packs purchased via Origin, but none of them will download. I’ve contacted Origin about this, but am still waiting for a response. 🙁
