I have a personal opinion that I concluded after surfing around in many site forums, when I faced the ultimate problem that I cannot install my work in the operative system or it simply won’t work. The problem was: I made a new LS version that is 100% my taste and it is what I wanted from the beginning AND it won’t install in my newest computers. It installs but crashes in Windows 8. As said I surfed around after an answer including Microsoft forums. None of the suggestions worked, resumed, nothing works. Then I started my own researches. I have 5 computers of my own, all of them were bought from professional shops specially dedicated to Data. When I buy computers I REQUIRE the original CDs and DVDs for every item installed. I do not accept any installation that doesn’t have the original source with valid Licenses and this is my ultimate requirement for the operating system (Windows). Lately, specialized professionals are becoming rare or far too expensive for hobby folks, then we started to buy computers from chain shops or online distributors. Such computers come with preinstalled OS that probably comes from Servers, possibly made available to ease the installation in 100s or even x1000s computers for sale. My suspicion lays on such procedure and the reason is: I normally use to install Windows self, from original DVDs, I go thru all the related pain and never had problems to install or work both TS2 and my LS. The computer where my LS is working, is a Windows 7 Ultimate, that of course, was installed from scratch, my way. It also works on my older computers running Windows 7 home Edition, that I upgraded from XP, also using original Licensed DVDs. The failure: I bought 2 new computers, one from an online distributor running Windows 7 Ultimate and one from a chain shop running Windows 8, both came with pre-installed OS and NONE of them works as I want. It was the hell to install TS2 in this new computer running pre-installed OS, though it is the same Win7 Ultimate. Upgrades regularly made available by Microsoft fails most of the time and I waste much time connecting to their main site to solve issues that I never had before. Resuming: a new super computer, over dimensioned 1000 times for what is used to, fails miserably in every minimum function. I’m so displeased that I wish I never bought it. To make things worse I bought as I said a Windows 8 laptop that is equally over dimensioned for the work I want to do in it. Well, it only crashes though it installed OK. I can’t go even thru the Vanilla installation of LS, that is necessary to play as Vanilla in order to get rid of the original scripting. So, I have a brand new Windows 8, now 3 months old and was never used other than turned on to avoid that the battery flats. I have absolutely no use for the computer, not even my spouse want it because it is not that easy when you are accustomed to other system and is no data expert. My spouse has Zero degree in Data. Well, resuming: I have only 2 choices – either I rebuy Windows 7 Ultimate original DVDs and reinstall self or buy 2 new Licenses of Windows 8, one to upgrade a system that I like as is and one to reinstall a crap that I don’t even know if it will work afterwards. OR I should wait for Windows 9 and hope that it is worth. OR I get rid of the new computers and keep my old functional PC and use it until it collapses dead and then give up the whole thing. Quite a frustration! Next time I have such issues and cannot do what I want to do, I have already new plans: my spouse will get the easiest Apple I can find and I will go back Linux. 🙁

I’m quite happy with my Windows 7, I can’t really imaging upgrading any time soon. Everything I need works just fine on it. Can’t you sell the unwanted PC and get some of your money back?
Please post all support requests in the forums if at all possible

I got a laptop that came with Win8 but I put a new hard drive in it and installed Win 7 on it and it works great.

I’m quite happy with Windows 7 too and the computer where I installed LS and is working fine, was bought originally with Windows XP that I changed by a much bigger hard disk and installed Windows 7 Ultimate from Licensed DVD. Never had problems. The case is that Computers become Old and I always plan my next Computer and always over-dimensioned for the programs I use. It is unlikely to resell them because they are far too expensive, not even chain shops accept the order because they are afraid to stuck with something so expensive. My last system cost over 3000 Euros. I plan all my movements and I also accept the blame when something goes wrong. My life game is to correct my mistakes 🙂 The problem with the laptop is that I really bought it because of the “Touch” system from Windows 8. My plan was to connect the laptop to my fitness center so I could train my body while keeping my mind busy. 😀 It is done but all I can do is to play Kabal (Solitaire). I’m hate to be online and have plans to give up my internet connection anytime in the future. There is very little information I need from outside my world, mainly because I’m really not interested, so I have to find a solution or find another hobby. (!)

Problem solved and not in Windows 7 but in Windows 8. I got the laptop to accept my game. Hurray! It seems that Windows 7 is now on the way to be declared obsolete.
