In The Sims Castaway there are several doors and stairways that cannot be opened until you have collected all of the hieroglyphics and made them into an Ancient Stele using a crafting bench.

If, like me, you have been travelling around from island to island trying to locate them, here’s a list of their hiding places, as well as the locations of the map pieces:

1st Island:

On the path in the Deep Jungle
On the deck of the ship
On Pier Beach near the pillars

2nd Island:

Near the door in the Dark Cave
Near the Skull Rock in Skull Rock Jungle
In front the quicksand and pillars of the East River Plains
Near the river in the South River Jungle

3rd Island:

Beside a hot spring in the Volcano Jungle
Outside the temple door in the Geyser Plains

Map Pieces:

Any Island (but usually on the 1st):

In a leaf bundle a chimp brings
In a bottle that washes up on the beach

2nd Island:

East River Plains: Behind the quicksand
West Beach: When diving for clams

3rd Island:

Volcano Jungle: Near hot springs
Volcano Rim: Top of the steep slope
Tidal Pools: After ceremonial dive
Tidal Pools: Catch a shark

4th Island:

On ground near alien symbols

Note–The piece behind the quicksand can only be reached
from behind after you open the door to the palace.
