So after having a lovely chat with Karen and Donna the other day, we decide maybe I should update some of my old, old houses from mts and convert a few of them into apartments and hotels.
Have just finished the first floor of one and would like some feedback please. The first Im converting is Bluewater Estate https://www.modthesims.info/d/309329
This was a large Estate, with a really bad roof job, too much CC and way too white! So I am currently converting this baby into a luxury hotel
Have changed the wall covering outside, broken up the boring simple pavers on the ground, added two more chimneys, made the roof a bit more flowing, and added some dormers to an otherwise very large and boring looking roof!
Inside I have completely changed the floor plan, sorry not shown yet.
Have only just done the very bottom floor at this stage.
There is quite an elaborate foyer, with two basic rooms either side of the stairs, both have a teeny tiny kitchenette and a bathroom. leading off the foyer is a ballroom as I had the great idea weddings could also be hosted here so you can have the ceremony, reception and honeymoon in one spot. At the other end of the foyer is the indoor swimming pool and off that is a small gym and sauna both leading out to a patio with an outdoor pool.I have taken out CC windows and doors and replaced with maxis, and removed alot of CC, but then also added some more *sigh* sorry cant help it!
And so far that is all Ive had time for.
Next floor up will be entrance way, honeymoon suite, another room, and restaurant, and third floor will be four more rooms.
Also on the very bottom under the entrance stairs is a wine cellar and off the ballroom is going to be a boutique.
So thats the plan, what are your thoughts?

What you are doing here looks great! I used to look back at some things that I had originally done but decided to avoid most of my old creations because there were a bit impractical.
I only occasionally edit the ceiling tiles but I need to do it more often. It can really change the appearance of a room. That is one feature I was so pleased to receive in an update!September 9, 2012 at 10:51 am #3339CheekyBuggaRe: Updating old houses

Do you know, I never, ever thought of doing this! I have a ton of old stuff which is laughable, so I may just do this myself. Your initial images look amazing, I really think you should go for it!
Please post all support requests in the forums if at all possible

Thanks guys I will carry it on!
Im thinking I may as well bring some of my better stuff over as well LadyAngel, and also the Pastel Way Series, my goal was to get to number 20 and I’m 2 off that, but dont feel like I can offer 19 and 20 without 1-18 being in the same place! Then will delete everything over at mts as would rather just have one lot of stuff to look after! Keep giving myself projects and not knowing where to begin!September 14, 2012 at 11:56 am #3419ekrubynaffitRe: Updating old houses

With bigger projects like your pastel way you could probably get away with putting them all into the one upload. It will be easy for people to download which one they want and you could also include an all zip or rar which will be really convenient. Also it won’t clog up the downloads section.

I did start doing that, but I have a really crappy server due to a nick in our phone cable, so our internet constantly disconnects and it seems to do it at a time when I upload! Which it did yesterday when I was in the middle of putting 5 of them in one thread, so ended up losing it all after 40 minutes of spending my time sorting out pics etc, so unfortunatly 1 at a time is what I have to do at the moment.
