Florida Mediterranean House Build Challenge

Welcome to Sim Fans UK first ever challenge!

We will run this until June 30th (2012), and here’s the challenge:

The image above is from this website, and contains the floor plans as well as furniture layouts. We’d like our members to build this house with the following guidelines:

• House can be built with either Sims 2 or Sims 3 game
• Must be a residential lot
• Any expansion and/or stuff packs can be used
• House must be as close to the image as possible, including the gardens. However, poetic license is allowed – for example, you can add cars, fencing, garden furniture etc. It’s the general house and landscaping that’s important.
• Custom content can be used, as long as you provide a link to each item if you decide to add it to our downloads section
• You don’t need to provide the house as a download (in our downloads section only), but you can if you wish, as long as you follow our uploading rules
• Required images are: Bird’s eye view(s), front and back of the house, and every room inside

Note that this is a challenge, it isn’t a competition with prizes, and we won’t be picking an overall winner. We’ve chosen a relatively simple design for our first challenge in the hope of attracting more entries. Simply reply to this post with your pictures.

Here is my effort. It’s made with the Sims 2, all Expansion and Stuff packs, plus quite a lot of custom content. It isn’t exactly the same as I had trouble with the roofing, but it’s the closest I could get:

Sarianne, I followed the floor plan here. (Scroll down to see it.) I actually started by placing the bath at the back of the house, then built around that. It was much easier than trying to follow the main image.

I was hopelessly addicted to mahjongg, no creative ideas, lost in the world of arcade games. But then, a sparkling house, gorgeous, inviting, and a challenge at that?? No, mahjongg wins. (Just kidding! I love it! Count me in!)

Which code did you copy in Tric? HTML code or IMG Code? https://http//i1012.photobucket.com/albums/af248/triciamanly/frontofhouse-7.jpg thats the link supplied it dosnt have the tag wrapped round it plus theres 2 https:// at the start.

My Entry

Must say, that was fun, though that roof was a !@#$ and not happy with the final draft of the roof, but the game has limits!! Looking forward to the next one! :cathug:
