Just wanted to let you know Tiff that I did this challenge I made an apartment lot but every time I try to change the zoning I keep getting errors!!!!! So I wont be entering in to it!! So annoying to complete them only to find they won’t damn well change!! I am sorry 🙁

donna post the pictures up and we’ll see if we can work out why you’re getting the errors cos we might be able to see why.

Yes Donna post the pics! You still have ages to enter! Heres a checklist first!

-Make sure you are using apartment doors and not hotel doors, and make sure the mat is on the outside
-If you have fencing with backdoors to private gardens make sure that your apartment isnt on a foundation or else it wont work unless you do the tute that I popped on at the top of the page.
-If the apartment has a private backyard and no foundation then make sure there is no gate to the backyard
-Apartments wont work if you have that tiny stepover fencing inside anywhere so check you havnt got that
-Dont use custom arches inside only maxis
-Split stairs quite often tend to bork up apartments changing

Go through that if none of those apply then post us some pics and we can have a check! Dont want you chucking it in after doing all that work!!

Ok I used Inge’s stairs would that be why I keep getting errors??

Those stairs are fine Donna, Just tested in my game and they work. Think its only if you do the cfe split stairs that make the walls warp.
When you go to neighbourhood after changing the zoning do your apartments come up saying 0 apartments, or is it just maybe one thats not working?

Tiff its while in the apartments after i do shift ctrl c I type in the changeLotzoning apartmentbase and i get the error come up and I have to type exit to get out of the cheat code thingy I have taken a few pics as kaz said to you may see what i have done wrong 🙁

You are using the wrong door Donna, you’ve got the bon voyage hotel door there, and not only that but one is backwards! You need the one called unique seperator comes with the mat. Make sure the mat is on the outside. Once you change that you should be away laughing!! And they look great, so glad you rose to the challenge!! xx

F.R.I.E.N.D.S

I decided to match with the Cafe/restaurant challenge I would make the friends apartments. I have cheated a wee bit and instead of making three different apartment complexes I have joined all the apartments into one building. Also have included Mr Heckles apartment and another random studio apartment, just to use up the room.

Outside pics

Floorplans

The whole apartment is built around this floorplan

Monica and Rachels apartment, the main hub of the show (aprt from central perk)

Lounge and dining and Kitchen

Rachels Room (excelsior poster moved with Rachel to the other two apartments she moved to)

Monicas room

Other main hub of the show, Joey and Chandlers apartment

Joeys Room

Chandlers Room (you dont see this much so its nothing too special)

Under Monica and Rachels is the physco Mr Heckles, who was always banging his broom on the ceiling and tell them to quiet down, when he died as their punishment he left everything to them, as you can see by his mess it reall was a punishment! I have made his apartment with two bedrooms.

Ross lives across the road in the show, but now he’s down the hall from Mr Heckles You normally only see the living room of Ross’s so thats all Im showing!

Phoebe lives downtown but now shes on the bottom floor

And just a random studio apartment with a very red kitchen!

And thats, whose idea was it to make apartments for the challenge, they need to be shot for thinking up something that takes such a long time!!!!
