This is a very simple tutorial on how to build various Sims 4 community lots and where to find the required items. I’ve stipulated that you just need the base game for this, but a lot depends on which packs you have installed. If you have the ‘Get To Work’ expansion, for example, you will be able to build hospitals and such. The ‘Cats & Dogs’ expansion will allow you to build a veterinary surgery, and so on. However, for this tutorial, I’ll be showing you how to build a little park. 🙂
First of all, open up your game and select an empty lot. The top-left of the game has a small house icon, this is where you can select the kind of lot you want to build:
Once you’ve made your selection, a list of requirements for that lot will show:
In the drop-down list that shows under ‘Requirements’, you can just click on any item and it will show in the catalogue. The lot items will also show up in a special category in the catalogue so you can see all of the items you can use:
You can also select ‘Traits’ for your lot which will affect the gameplay and the way your Sims react to it:
Once you have all of the required items, you can add as much other stuff as you want: i.e. trees, foliage, fencing, BBQ, anything, really! I’ve just made a very simple one to show you the items required for this particular lot, but you can make yours as simple or as complex as you want!
If you don’t have all of the required items, your lot will show as incomplete both in the world and in the build mode:
So, in conclusion, whichever type of lot you want to build, it’s easy to find the required items and make your lot appealing to any visiting Sims.
