I found a few rolls of tulle-like fabric in the attic today which I thought were really nice and I would like to have them as skirts (dresses too, but that’s a little too ambitious for me). I’m just looking for some input on a few things.

1: Below are 2 photos of one of the fabrics. It’s a light cream color (shown with a yellow wall behind it). I think this was used to make some kind of window treatment. Do you think this would make for a nice, practical skirt? With an underskirt, of course.

2: Since I found several of these fabrics, I was wondering about a way to have them all as skirts but only have to purchase 1 underskirt. I had this idea that the tulle parts can be sewn into skirt shapes to match the underskirt, with an elastic band at the top, but not be attached to the underskirt. This way I can layer a tulle part with the underskirt when I want to wear a particular one. It will essentially be wearing 2 skirts and hoping it looks like 1. Is this a practical idea?

Here is a cheap underskirt I found that I like:

Well firstly I love the Fabric If I had that Material I would have a Black petticoat like layer under I feel would bring out the Pattern in Fabric more,I personally don’t think you need 2 skirts you can gather your Fabric and join to under layer,of course the fabric would have to soft so it hangs down if it’s too stiff you couldn’t have much of a gather I expect..Just my ideas 🙂

What a lovely idea for a skirt. I like Cheeky’s suggestion too 🙂
